100 Years, 100 Trees!
As we mentioned at the April Pack Meeting, the 515 leadership has been in talks with Polk County regarding a Centennial project celebrating the 100th Year Anniversary of Boy Scouts of America. We were planning to allow each Scout in our Pack and Troop the opportunity to purchase a tree and plant it in a designated location within the new Simmers-Young Athletic Park.
Since we last met, we have made significant progress on this project with the Polk County Parks and Natural Resources Department, to the extent that the County will now be furnishing all of the trees for the boys, all the associated equipment necessary for a successful plant as well as all support services for our Pack during the project that day. In addition, CVS has stepped forward and will be onsite with supplies and assistance.
